Concert sitars, built in the Kolkata tradition.

We carry two Jayanta Sengupta sitars, both Ravi Shankar style with double toomba, sitting near the top of our sitar range. These are instruments for players who have outgrown a student sitar and know what they want from a jawari.

What Ravi Shankar style means. A second gourd on the neck and a particular string layout, associated with the lineage that carried the sitar to Western audiences. It is a configuration rather than a quality grade.
