Why was I not asked to pay?
Because we check first. Placing an order tells us what you want; it does not charge you. We confirm the instrument is really in stock, then message you on WhatsApp or by email within one working day with payment details. Orders up to $700 can be paid by card link or bank transfer, above $700 is bank transfer only.
What currency are your prices in?
Everything on this site is priced and charged in US dollars, wherever you are. We do not display local currency, because we would rather show you one honest number than an estimate that changes at checkout.
If you pay by card, your bank converts at their own rate and may add a foreign transaction fee. That is between you and your bank, and we never see it.
When we message you with payment details, tell us if you would prefer to pay in your own currency. Depending on your country we can often arrange it through Stripe, PayPal or Wise, and Wise in particular usually gives a better rate than a card. We will tell you honestly which option costs you least.
How long until it arrives?
We email an estimated dispatch date once payment is settled. Shipping is by FedEx, DHL or UPS with tracking. Transit is usually under a week to the US and Europe, though customs clearance can add time.
Will I pay customs duty?
Possibly. Duties and import taxes are set by your own country, payable to the courier who clears the package. They are not included in our prices. This is normal for any instrument shipped internationally.
Is shipping really free?
To the US, most of western Europe, Australia, New Zealand and much of South East Asia, yes, and the price you see is the price. Elsewhere shipping is charged by weight and shown in the cart before you order.
Will the instrument arrive in tune?
Harmoniums and shruti boxes are tuned to A440 and checked again on the day they ship. Wood and reeds move in transit and with climate, so a little settling is normal. Open the packing as soon as it arrives so the instrument can air.
What if it arrives damaged?
We have a 10-day replacement policy and every order carries free transit insurance on the instrument itself. Keep photos and video of the outer packaging before you open it, and of the damage. Those are what the claim rests on.
Can you help me choose?
Yes, and this is the part we are actually good at. Message us on WhatsApp with what you play, how long you have played, and where you are. We will tell you which instrument suits, including when the cheaper one is the right answer.
Do you sell the instrument in the photograph?
The photograph shows the model. Every instrument is handmade, so grain, colour and finish vary. Before we pack yours, we film it playing so you see and hear the exact one you are getting.
Do you take returns if I change my mind?
Our replacement policy covers instruments that arrive damaged. For anything else, please ask before you buy, when we confirm your order by WhatsApp. It is much easier to answer a question then than to move an instrument back across an ocean.
