Basic Tabla Set

Everything a beginner needs to sit down and start: dayan, bayan, cushions, covers and a tuning hammer.

We keep the price here down with lighter bayans and standard shell woods, and we are open about that. What we do not do is sell something that cannot be learned on. These are real drums with real skins, tuneable to a real pitch, and plenty of the players who now buy concert sets from us started on one of these.

What actually separates a basic set from a professional one? Bayan weight and metal, shell wood grade, and the quality of the puri and its shyahi. Those change how deep the drum sounds and how well it holds tuning. They do not change whether you can learn kaida on it.

Which pitch? Most adult beginners start on a dayan around C sharp to D. If you have a teacher, ask them before ordering, because matching their preference makes lessons easier. If you do not, message us and tell us your voice or your ensemble.

When to upgrade. When your ear outgrows the drum. If you start noticing tuning drift or a dull ring, or your teacher says the instrument is limiting you, move to Professional. Not before. There is no benefit to owning a concert set you cannot yet hear the difference on.
