The morchang is the Indian jaw harp of Rajasthan's desert musicians: a forged iron frame, a springy tongue, and your mouth as the resonator. Percussionists worldwide have adopted it, and it is the least expensive real instrument we sell.

How do you play it? Rest the frame lightly against slightly parted teeth and pluck the tongue. Vowel shapes and breathing change the sound. First twangs come in minutes; real groove takes practice.

Does it hurt your teeth? Held correctly, no. The frame rests against the teeth and is never bitten, and the tongue swings free.

What is it made of? Forged iron. Small, nearly indestructible, and happy in a pocket.
