Punjabi Bhangra Dhol

Nothing replaces a dhol.

Slung from the shoulder, struck with two sticks, one head thundering and the other cracking: it is the engine of bhangra and the sound of every Punjabi wedding on earth. We build ours in mango and sheesham with modern bolt tuning, and we make padded gig bags sized to fit them.

What size? Standard adult performance dhols run around 24 inches, with sizes and weights on every listing. Bigger is louder and heavier. Think about who carries it and for how long, because a dhol is worn rather than placed.

Natural skin or synthetic heads? Natural skins give the traditional tone and respond to weather, which matters if you play outdoors. Synthetic Remo heads hold tension in rain, cold and heat, which is why touring bhangra teams choose them.
