Maharaja Musicals Harmoniums
These are the harmoniums we build ourselves, in our own workshop, which is why they are priced the way they are.
When you buy an instrument from another maker and sell it on, two margins have to live inside the same instrument. Building our own removed that ceiling. The range runs from portable kirtan boxes through folding models to multi-reed scale changers, and it is the widest harmonium range we carry.
What we control. The wood, seasoned Indian teak, kail and mirindi chosen because they hold their shape through a Delhi summer and a Chicago winter. The reed selection. The tuning, done to A440 and checked again on the day it ships. The bellows, tested for air leaks, because a leak you cannot hear in the workshop becomes a sustain you cannot hold six months later.
What that means for you. We can answer questions about these instruments from having built them rather than from a catalogue, and we can service them with first-hand knowledge. Before your harmonium is packed, we film it playing. The actual one.
Where they sit against the named makers. Honestly: our instruments own the student to serious range on value. Bina is the most trusted standard instrument in the world and we sell those too. MKS and Paul & Co take over at the top. We will tell you which side of that line your budget lands on rather than pushing our own.
