Sitar, the musical string instrument of India is available with us on many variations. We will ship the sitar of your choice as per your requirements. We also provide assistance to beginners or people who need it. Before we ship the instrument we ensure that they are tuned as per the briefing we receive from our clients.
As far as tuning of sitar is concerned –the central element in tuning a Sitar is the keynote which can be selected individually and is usually between c and d, often c sharp, depending on the desired sound pattern. Both categories of sitar – that is Ravishankar and Vilayat khan follow specific and different tuning techniques.
On our site we keep many types of sitars. For beginners we have the simpler versions available in a low price range. These instruments do not have very high standards concerning the sound and also the quality of craftsmanship is not so high. Please note that when you buy sitar from us and order it online, we always test the items before shipping to you. We also pack the instruments with great care so that they arrive in perfect condition. However, in a rare case, if you receive a damaged or defective item we will collect and replace it at our cost.

Please inform us within two days of the receipt of a defective item by sending an email to help@tablasitar.com along with the details of the defects and photographs. We will also ask to file a report with the courier company so that we can claim insurance.

Please be patient and we will make sure that you are satisfied.


Terms & Conditions

Sorry, No Returns (yet!): All sales are final and we don't offer returns at the moment. We do, however, offer replacements if you receive defective or damaged items. We will be offering 7-day local US, UK and Canada returns very soon!

We Pay Custom Duties: If you have been charged a customs duty on your sitar, please email us a copy of the receipt on help@tablasitar.com within two days and we will pay it back to you. This only applies to USA and UK customers.

Remote-area Charge: If you live away from the city in a remote area in US/Canada/Australia, courier companies charge a little extra for delivery. Please click here to check if you live in a remote area. However, you can always collect the shipment from the nearest office of the courier company at no extra cost.
