It is usually crafted from wrought iron but these days some brass morchang are also available which are better in quality. A basic resembles a horse shoe and consists of a ring. There are two metal forks that form a frame and a metal tongue is present between them. The tongue is fixed to ring at one end and its other end is free to strike and vibrate. The free end is bent at a plane perpendicular to the ring and is known as a trigger.
