About Dholak
Dholak, which is also sometimes referred to as Dholki, is a popular folk drum of northern India. It's a barrel shaped music drum with a simple membrane on the right hand side and a special membrarne on the left hand, with a special application of "masala" on the inner surface of the membrane. Dholak masala is a mixture of tar, clay and sand which helps in lowering the pitch and provides a well defined tone to it.

This natural coloured dholak is of a fine quality and is made from Mango Wood. This dholak uses nut-and-bolt tuning mechanism, which makes it very easy to tune. Please note that when you buy dholak from us and order it online, we always test the items before shipping to you. We also pack the instruments with great care so that they arrive in perfect condition. However, in a rare case, if you receive a damaged or defective item we will collect and replace it at our cost.
Please inform us within two days of the receipt of a defective item by sending an email to help@tablasitar.com along with the details of the defects and photographs. We will also ask to file a report with the courier company so that we can claim insurance.
